Been a long time

Wow I can't believe it has been so long since I have written on here. Things are going good and really busy. Monkey man is going to be 4 in a few months and never slows down!! Boo is 2 and is also very busy! Monkeyman said goodbye to his shoes and bar altogether back on October 1, 2014. It took awhile for him to get used to not wearing them and he actually asked to have them on for awhile after when going to bed. So to all those who thought they bothered him they obviously didn't- he got used to them and it was a big adjustment to go to not wearing them at all. We are coming up to our 6 month post checkup and will see how he is doing without them. I do notice he is walking on the outside of his right foot more although it does stretch just fine into place when we do his stretches. I am going to go into the appointment expecting to be told he needs to have the tendon relocation surgery- will be pleasantly surprised if it turns out otherwise. He is such a smart and funny little man and so determined so I know he will do great no matter what. He is such an active guy- runs everywhere, loves his bike, preschool, playing at parks and play places and anything that has him moving non stop :) He makes friends everywhere we go.
Boo is a little more on the shy side sometimes although she loves to make new friends as well. She is one smart cookie and also loves to stay active.
I do miss the naps they used to have as it seems like they have both dropped them altogether now.
I have to keep this short as this momma needs some sleep but I hope to update sooner than nearly 2 years!

Been awhile

Wow I haven't written on here in a long time. I am currently preparing to have Monkey man's 2nd birthday party! And my Lil Boo turns 6 months tomorrow! Where did the time go??? They are keeping me busy as is my new hobby of tutu, soother clip, bib making and other sewing. Monkey had his checkup at the children's hospital and his feet are looking good although his right needed to have the shoe turned out more to see if that helps it as it was the foot needing the most correction.
Well have to keep it short as the lil miss just woke up :)

World Clubfoot Day

Today is the first ever World Clubfoot day! 2 years ago we were waiting to see what "bilateral clubfeet" would mean for our monkey man! I thank Dr.Ponseti for developing the Ponseti method for  treatment of Clubfoot. Without him who knows if my son would be walking, running, jumping and a typical almost 2 yr old boy! Many babies born with clubfeet in developing countries aren't as lucky as we are. My monkey has shown me what determination, strength and resilience are. We are often asked "doesn't it bug him to wear his shoes?" No it doesn't- it is a part of life for him, he doesn't know any different. My boy and all the other babies who have gone through/ are going through the Clubfoot journey are amazing and I can't wait to see what he does with the determination it has given him :) 

I am so thankful for Dr. Joughin and the staff at ACH for knowing how to properly do the Ponseti treatment. Without them knowing how to correct his feet this way he might be in constant pain and needing multiple major surgeries!

Happy New Year!

Well a lot has changed since I last wrote! Life has been just a little busy around here as we welcomed are baby girl "Boo" on November 20. She waited until her due date of Nov 19 but decided to be 8 minutes overdue :). The labour was fast and was 3 hrs- more on that in another post when I get to it. Monkey man loves his sister and doesn't have too much jealousy.
Well I will put some pictures and keep this short as a momma with an almost 19 month old and a 6 week old I don't get a lot of time to post :)

Wow it's been awhile since I last posted!  Sorry about that- life has been busy around here.  Monkey man has decided to start walking!  My little man is growing up so fast.  He also likes to snuggle my growing baby belly and try to feed it his snack.  Pretty sure he knows that his little brother or sister is in there.  I have to keep this short but am going to post some pictures of my fun photo shoot with Monkey man today.
